Presentation Skills

An in-house course on Presentation Skills for your managers can be far more cost-effective than sending them on external courses (making savings even with as few as three managers). The training can be tailored to your specific needs and delivered at a date and time to suit you.

Delivering presentations is something that many managers shy away from (public speaking is said to be feared by some people even more than death!), and a skill that can be learned to perform confidently. We recommend two half-day workshops, around two weeks apart, so that skills can be put into practice in a safe environment, however, the first is a stand-alone course if you prefer.

Presentation Skills

Aim: To enable participants to learn how to deliver effective presentations with confidence

Objectives:

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

• Plan the message with the audience in mind
• Structure the presentation, and use appropriate visual aids if required
• Deliver the presentation with confidence

Learning Methods:

This session of short tutor inputs, group sessions and individual work, provides participants with an opportunity to explore and share best (and worst!) practice in presentations.

Presentation Skills (follow up)

Aim: To enable participants to practice their presentation skills and act on feedback from their colleagues

Objectives:

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

• Plan & deliver a 15 minute presentation
• Receive feedback & peer review
• Revise their presentation in response to feedback

Learning Methods:
This session puts into practice the theory learnt in the first session, vitally important when developing any skill. Participants will deliver their prepared presentation and receive peer review / tutor feedback to enable them to adjust their presentation skills as required.
